Bagi yang belum membaca, mulailah! Saya mengikuti Karya Is Yuniarto ini sejak seri pertama nya. Ketularan membaca pertama kali saya langsung kepincut dan menjadi fans loyal dari komik ini.

Dari kecil saya sudah dicekoki cerita-cerita perwayangan. Mahabharata, Bhatarayudha, Ramayana dan lain-lain. Selain disuguhkan Cerita 25 Nabi, kisah perwayangan menjadi bacaan yang saya gemari.

Berapa gembiranya saya Ketularan Mas Is mengeluarkan komik ini. Karakter-karakter yang Sangat dekat dihati saya yang awalnya Gamya imajinasi, sekarang menjadi gambar! Dan ... keren sekali! Gatotkaca dengan Antakusuma dan Brajamusti, Arjuna yang digambarkan dingin (baca cool) kemarin panache pasopati. Antareja dengan Nagarupa nya... dan banyak lagi! For me this comic series is a treat. I just love it.

Saatnya ini Garudayana sudah masuk di Buku ke3. Mungkin jarak terbit komik ini Sangat jauh... tapi saya related menunggu.

Good job Mas Is Yuniarto. Keep it up. I am one of the fans of your amazing work.

Saga Perpanjangan SIM - POLRES Jakarta Selatan

Awalnya saya berpikir; sama seperti hal-hal lain yang berhubungan dengan birokrasi di negara ini, akan memakan proses yang lama dan menyulitkan. Namun ternyata pemikiran ini tidak sepenuhnya benar. Thanks to my brave wife, berdasarkan pengalaman nya beberapa tahun lalu, kami memutuskan untuk tidak menggunakan bantuan pemberi jasa dan melakukan semuanya sendiri ... hardcore nih .. hahaha.

This is what you need:
1. Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP).
2. Surat Izin Mengemudi (SIM).
3. Fotokopi KTP dan SIM masing-masing 2 kopi.
4. Bulpen/Pena.

This is what you do:
1. Bayar dan ambil form.
2. Periksa kesehatan dan mata.
3. Bayar asuransi.
4. Masukkan form ke loket.
5. Foto.
6. Ambil SIM dan kartu asuransi.

Okay. So this is what happened:

Jam 9.45 Kita sampai di Kepolisian Resort Jakarta Selatan. Seharusnya Kita masuk dari depan, tapi karena dipikir ada pintu disamping, Kita ke arah sana. Akhirnya ada Pak polisi yang memberitahu Kalau bisa lewat belakang dan kami harus fotokopi dahulu (Sebaiknya sudah fotokopi dari rumah yah). Letak tempat fotokopi ada di dekat/samping koperasi.

Setelah itu kami ke dalam dan ikut petunjuk yang mengatakan "Perpanjangan SIM". Sampailah ke pemberhentian pertama: Bank. Untuk SIM A biaya nya Rp.80,000 untuk SIM C Rp.75,000. Kita akan menerima kwitansi pembayaran dan form berwarna biru yang harus diisi.

Lalu kami keluar dan menuju lebih dalam lagi dimana ada meja (seperti di airport) yang dapat digunakan untuk mengisi form biru yang telah diberikan. Jangan kuatir, karena di meja tersebut disediakan contoh.

Lanjutlah Kita ke pemberhentian berikutnya: Dokter umum. Disini mata Kita akan di cek. Serahkan dokumen dan bayar Rp. 20,000. Bagi yang memakai kacamata, tes dilakukan dengan menggunakan kacamata tersebut. Setelah selesai Kita akan menerima selembar kertas dari si pemeriksa yang isinya hasil pemeriksaan tadi.
Lanjut Kita menuju ke bagian Asuransi. Tempatnya agak terpencil di ujung koridor. Disini Kita memberikan KTP dan membayar Rp.30,000. Setelah mendapatkan bukti bayar Kita juga akan menerima kertas pengambilan kartu Asuransi yang akan digunakan setelah SIM Kita selesai.

Dengan diterimanya bukti bayar asuransi, maka Kita siap ke loket untuk mendaftar. Ada 2 jendela/loket; untuk mendaftar dan untuk mengambil SIM yang sudah jadi. Langsung menuju jendela yang kanan dan serahkan semua dokumen kecuali KTP asli. Walaupun Bapak yang didalam akan merapihkan, serahkan dokumen dengan rapih. Setelah itu sang Bapak akan memberikan Kita nomer urut untuk foto.

Ruangan foto terletak di samping loket. Didalam ada 2 meja dan kursi panjang. Kalau kursi kosong, langsung saja masuk dan duduk dengan manis. Data Kita akan muncul di komputer Bapak yang bertugas dan Kita akan dipanggil. Bapak yang di meja akan mengecek data-data yang Kita input saat mengisi form. Pastikan semua benar karena data ini yang akan tercetak di SIM Kita. Setelah benar semua, sidik jari jempol Kita akan diambil. Tidak seperti dulu yang menggunakan tinta, sekarang sudah ada alat rekam digital. Jempol kiri, kanan dan diakhiri dengan Kita memberikan tanda Tangan di alat rekam sebelahnya. Setelah itu, Hal terakhir yang dilakukan di ruangan ini adalah foto. Bagi yang merasa perlu tau, background nya warna biru. So dress to match ya hehe.

Selesai sudah. Kita keluar dan menunggu di kursi-kursi yang ada didepan loket untuk menunggu dipanggil oleh Bapak di loket kiri. Tidak sampai 5 menit, akan dipanggil dan SIM baru Kita selesai. Periksa semuanya dan jangan Lupa untuk mengambil kartu asuransi.

Done! Dalam waktu 30 menit lebih sedikit :). Now get out, before they change their mind :).

Jujur, saya tidak menyangka bahwa perpanjangan SIM dapat dilakukan secepat itu dan tanpa ada masalah yang berarti. Yang harus dipertahankan sejak Kita sampai di PolRes adalah tekad untuk melakukannya sendiri. Akan selalu ada oknum yang mencoba menawarkan bantuannya. 10 menit jadi Katanya... well I don't mind finishing it in 30 minutes kok. Toh, ruangan tunggu nya didalam dan tidak panas.
So all in all: good job Pak Polisi. Proses sudah ok. Tempat juga sudah tidak menyedihkan. Moga-moga di PolRes lain di daerah selain Jakarta Selatan, pelayanan nya juga sebaik ini.

Video Conferencing Saga! - Archos 70i Internet Tablet (Android)

Melihat milis jual beli gadget setiap hari memang berbahaya! Sejak menjual Ipad Wifi 64Gb tahun lalu, saya selalu berpikir "hmmm tablet memang tidak berguna saat ini untuk saya". Tapi keinginan untuk memiliki tablet pc selalu ada. Dan hadirlah Ipad 2 dengan front facing camera nya.

Sudah beberapa minggu saya terobsesi dengan perangkat lunak (software) Facetime dari iOS. Perangkat lunak ini memungkinkan untuk dilakukannya video conferencing antara pemilik device iOS yang memiliki kamera. Sangat terobsesinya, sampai-sampai saya berpikir mau mengganti Android HTC kesayangan saya dengan iPhone 4. Untung harganya masih gila, jadi niat dengan terpaksa diurungkan.

Lalu beberapa hari lalu ada yang menjual Android Tablet dari Archos: Archos 70 Internet Tablet bekas di milis jual gadget tercinta. Item ini sudah ada di radar saya sejak pertama diluncurkan. Namun selalu saja saya berpikir bahwa tablet belum terlalu berguna. Toh saya masih ada laptop untuk browsing dan lain-lain. Tapi kelebihan Archos ini dibanding iPad adalah ukuran dan beratnya. Coba saja baca buku di iPad sembari tiduran lebih dari 30 menit. Pasti tangan pegal. Apalagi kalau lagi main game ber jam-jam. Karena kalap disodori harga yang lebih murah dari pasaran. Lansung booked, dan terjadilah transaksi.

Tidak berapa lama (tak sampai 2 hari), hati langsung menyesal. Buat apa buang-buang uang untuk benda ini. Lebih baik beli locomotif Athearn Genesis SD70ACe w/ sound yang lagi ada dipasaran. Sudah begitu, apabila dibandingkan dengan HTC Desire; android os di tablet ini sangat-sangat tidak smooth (bahasa kerennya; not silky smooth). Mungkin karena RAM nya yg setengah dari HTC Desire.

Namun penyesalan agak terobati ketika saya sadar bahwa Archos ini punya webcam dan bisa saya pakai untuk conference call dengan si kecil. Walaupun wifi, tapi saya bisa tethering dari HTC Desire saya (go Android!). Dan dengan menggunakan Yahoo Messenger (YM), akhirnya salah satu cita-cita bisa tercapai.

Memang tidak sesempurna itu. Gambar selalu patah-patah. Latency atau lag time juga parah sekali, sehingga ngobrol pun seperti tidak berjalan dengan mulus dan terus menerus. Tapi saya bisa melihat si kecil. Dia bisa teriak-teriak dan tertawa tawa, dan saya bisa mendengarkan celotehan nya dia melalui tablet kecil ini.

Seandainya kita punya koneksi 3G lebih baik. Kalau dirumah, saya sudah pakai sitrawimax, jadi harusnya mumpuni donk. 3G dari Indosat yang dipancarkan dari HTC Desire saya lah yang menurut saya membuat segalanya jadi lebih lambat. Apalagi sinyal Indosat di kantor saya sangat-sangatlah buruk.

Namun, dengan segala kekurangan-kekurangan yang saya sebutkan diatas, harus diakui akhirnya saya dapat melakukan panggilan video dengan istri dan anak saya dirumah. Priceless! So I might not sell you off after all Archos! :)

Sekarang, harus dicoba dan diadu nih dengan Facetime dari Apple. Sayang sekali saya hanya punya satu buah iPod Touch; jadi agak susah mencari tandem untuk mengetes kemampuan Facetime. Kalo lebih bagus .. hmmmmm iPhone 4 dan iPad 2 akan menjadi list berburu gadget berikutnya.

GP50 NW @Trainz Cafe

Aha! I used to think that this is a very expensive hobby .. so even though I often stared at windows (of hobby shops) wanting to buy a set of motive powers .. at the end .. I didn't. However, akibat membelikan Luminara a set of Takara Tomy Plarail Thomas .. keinginan saya untuk bermain kereta model bangkit kembali.

When I shop around .. guess what .. IT IS STILL EXPENSIVE haha. Tapi gak tau kenapa, mungkin karena gaji sudah agak sedikit mencukupi .. dan banyak sekali produsen-produsen China .. harga nya mulai terjangkau.

Misalnya loco (locomotive) yang saya beli ini. Model EMD GP50 Norfolk & Western .. buatan Bachmann ... DCC Equipped dijual seharga Rp 700.000 ... wow masih mahal .. tapi dibanding Marklin .. yang mungkin jutaan .. ini sudah murah ... digital pula :). Karena harga sudah lebih murah, nabung untuk beli pun makin cepat :). So I decided to go for it (with the blessing of my wifey ofcourse ... this is like the Finance Minister's approval .. so definitely important).

After browsing a lot of websites .. buying two darn big catalogs .. chatting with enthusiasts and sellers .. I decided to take it slow and to stay away from the premium stuff (for now). And thus .. along came Bachmann! .. well semua orang bilang the quality is not that good. The tracks are so so.. the controller not to high tech .. the loco are plastic. Well, for me .. this is so far the most economical :p ... nanti mungkin .. kalau jadi konglomerat .. saya beli Marklin atau Fleischmann.

Setelah berkunjung lebih dari 2 kali, akhirnya saya memberanikan untuk membawa loco baru saya ke Trainz Cafe. Hmmm hal yang membuat ragu adalah takut cupu karena pemain baru dan baru punya 1 loco saja ... loco murahan pula hehe.

Tapi karena ketidak tahanan hasrat (ceile) untuk bermain dan starter set yang tidak kunjung dapat; akhirnya saya memberanikan diri untuk membawa GP50 NW kesayangan untuk di test roll.

Wow ternyata mas-mas yang jaga baik-baik semua. Saya sangat dibantu untuk men-set loco saya. Udah gitu dipinjamkan banyak rolling stock :). Tidak ada yang aneh-aneh sih, tapi salah satunya sudah di modif (di cat/decal) dengan PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja. Cantik sekali! (me thinking on buying a tank stock and paint it with Pertamina).

Pesan minum, cemilan, dan minta asbak... and start rolling... hehehe manteb euy mainan ini. Padahal pre-determined rute .. tapi puter-puter lebih dari 10 kali pun tidak membosankan. Bahaya nih! karena bisa sambil merokok, bisa betah ber jam-jam nih.

Kebetulan, digital controller yang dipakai di sana adalah merk Roco.. hmmm menrik juga, tapi pasti harganya akan sampai 2jt lebih. Well, I think as a beginner I'll stick with Bachmann EZ Command deh. When I got the fell .. I'll upgrade later (with the permission of the wifey of course - hehe).
Talked with several nice people. Mas Andi (kalo ndak salah), dan Om Kumto. Sempet bicara soal layout, dan beliau menawarkan jasa untuk pembuatan layout (hmmm menarik) .. tapi sepertinya mahal sekali yah .. alternatif lain mungkin bisa liat ke www.umomaket.com ... ah nanti lah, saya bahkan belum punya set komplit yang ready to roll (RTR)... wong baru punya locomotive aja .. yang sehari-hari hanya dipakai untuk pajangan disamping CC201 buatan agung hobby :).

Setelah panjang lebar berbicara, akhirnya masalah saya kembali ke isu dana (kok banyak sekali ya masalah yang berhubungan dengan yang satu ini). Jadi layout adalah rencana jangka panjang. Lagipula seru kali yah kalo kita coba bikin layout sendiri. I imagining that I can actually produce a layout capturing the Uilenstede area ... wow it would be great!!

Anyway, for now; if I feel the urge to roll my loco, I'll go to Trainz Cafe. Good people, good layout, good food? don't know yet. I never actually taste the main course. In time, I'll save enough money to start my own layout :).

The title said it all. I pray for Japan.

As I laid beside my babygirl last night; it got me thinking. What if a tsunami happened, and me and my family are stuck in the middle of it? What if I don't have the power to protect my wifey and my babygirl? It saddened me; truly.

Maybe this is how Anakin felt when he lost his dear mother. A feeling of hopeless, and despair .. because he could not prevent her death. So I don't blame him .. for being human. I cannot imagine how the fathers in the northern Japan must've felt when they cannot protect their love ones.

A question of 'What if' is kinda stupid and out of place considering what has already happened in Banda Aceh a few years ago. But I have to admit, at that time; Aceh seemed like a distant place. Jakarta went on as it use to everyday. I did some charity; but I cannot stop thinking 'why I did not do more for them'.

Now I heard a lot of very encouraging news from Japan. People helping each other. People offering help to their fellow citizen. People who open their house for people who are stranded in the street. They did not rush and clear out all of the food in the market thinking that they should share it with the other. They queue with a discipline that I rarely see with my people. How come? how come Japanese can be such a caring people? considering what they did to us during World War II! They should be warmongering, blood lusted scum. But what I heard these past few days shows that Japanese is a highly discipline and kind people.

Strange. Is it because of honor? discipline? high education? Do people really have the capacity to be that good? Well .. if you see my country (especially the government), the answer will be a big NO. We are so captivated by our own needs, that we are probably be willing to sacrifice other people. Sad right?

I pray for Japan. I pray for my fellow earthlings. No race, religion, nationality should border us.

Khotbah hari ini bagus menurut saya. Usually the khotbah at Cilandak Commercial Estate's auditorium during Friday prayer are ... well .. abysmal hehe.

Yang bagus dari khotbah hari ini adalah; bagaimana khotib dapat membumikan pesan-pesan dia. Khotbah hari intinya adalah 'memberikan rahmat untuk sekitar-mu' ... (moga-moga pengertian saya bener lah). Dia bilang: kalau kamu mau rahmat dari langit .. kamu juga harus dong, memberikan rahmat buat semuanya disekitar kamu.

As usual (for a Friday Prayer's preacher); he told the story of our Prophet Muhammad; as an example. And then he went on saying that Muhammad really loved his family. At the time (in Arab) when kissing your kid is not common, Muhammad encourage moslems to do so. It's like saying that you have to express your love, you have to give 'rahmat' to your family; so then you are eligible for 'rahmat' from God :p ... well .. for me that statement actually make sense!

Cium anak kamu, cium istri kamu; jangan pernah ragu untuk melakukan itu. Tunjukkan cinta kamu pada mereka; berikan lah rahmat kasih sayang itu. Luangkan waktu kamu; belai rambut anak mu, istrimu. Insya Allah berkah dan rahmat akan diberikanNya untuk kamu.

Well, you don't even have to be religious in order to understand the above statement. That is why I rather like this preacher. Semoga makin banyak deh khotib yg bisa lebih dicerna omongan di atas mimbarnya. Tidak usahlah bicara politik dan yang isu-isu besar. Kadang hal-hal kecil, dorongan untuk melakukan hal yang tidak terlalu susah; lebih berguna buat umat yang mendengarkan. Lihat saja saya; akibat mendengarkan khotbah tadi; saya berjanji untuk selalu memeluk dan mencium anak saya setiap hari. Dan saya berjanji untuk membelai rambut istri saya dan memberitahu dia tentang kasih saya :) .. little step..

Gadget = Bling bling .. Do you need it?

Well, here we go again.. Om Steve Jobs baru aja launching the next generation iPad; The iPad 2! Kata si Om: 33% lebih tipis, double (CPU) processing speed (dual core Apple A5) and front/rear camera. The 1 million dollar question is: Should I buy it? Wihhh ada yg putih pula.

The problem with the original iPad (for me at least) adalah berat nya .. I owned iPad 16Gb (which I bought in the U.S and sold in Jkt for a margin). Coba aja browsing lebih dari 30 menit .. capek loh pegangnya .. and it was quite awkward if you don't use a case; licin gitu.The next big problem is .. mau dibilang pengganti pc .. tapi tetep aja iPad perlu PC utk sync. Jadi yah percuma aja kali ya. Beda sama android yg bener2 gak perlu pc (utk pic, music, video dll.). Tapi teteep yang laku ya iPad :)

The real question is actually; whether you need this gadget or not. Kalo dibilang mau sih .. ya mau lahhh. Kalo butuh .. hmmmm. Unless I sell my Macbook; the iPad is redundant.

Since I use a company's laptop for work; my primary laptop (which is the MacBook) lost some of its usefulness. Now I primarily use it for browsing, and as my music and pictures database.

For browsing, I believe iPad 2 can substitute my MacBook. But as a database? hardly ya. Jadi memang seharusnya kita perlu ada 1 desktop di rumah .. and I have a macmini ... so what the hell am I doing. I should sell my Macbook and buy an android tablet :p ... ooooor buy the original iPad!!! which will get a US$100 cut due to the launching of iPad 2 ... see, justification found! it's a matter of pitching this with the wifey hehe.

Facetime is a must now!

I am a devoted android user. I truly support their 'openness' .. seriously! with an android; you can do things that you can't with your iPhone.

The one thing that I want though; is the Facetime. Apple has made it very easy to do video conferencing. And for a lovey dovey daddy like me; 1 minute of video conferencing with my babygirl is a miracle :). I truly believe that if android cannot provide a Facetime like feature in its phone and tablet .. I'll seriously considering a move to the good old Steve Jobs' bandwagon.

Waktu itu my good friend Hendrik actually demoed the Facetime feature using his shiny new generation iPod Touch ... you only need an email and a wifi connection and voila!! video conferencing! and as long as you have good internet connection, everything is flawless :)

Saat ini gadget (terutama di Jakarta) sudah seperti menjadi trend. You just got to have the newest shiny, state of the art, blazingly fast gadget in town. It is like a jewelry that you wear so you can show it to other people. I'm not saying it is wrong... terserah aja kok; kan suka-suka aja tiap orang mau gimana. But for me; karena uang masih terbatas, ya mau gak mau harus milih milih :p.

- if my wifey approved the buying (this is the hardest part)

But seriously; it goes down to the Facetime! Soooo many things to buy in 2011!! : Nintendo 3DS, iPad2, Motorola Atrix 4G, Macbook Air, Nismo Bodykit for March, audio for March.

Well, this is a sign for me to work harder, don't you think? :)

Inspired by a certain blog that I just read; me gonna start creating blogs with multiple pictures. :) . So this is my first try (don't mock me ya).

This is my new car .. A Nissan March/Micra 2010 (K13). Dibeli karena mau mengirit pengeluaran bensin ... Only in Indonesia tuh .. untuk mengirit harus membeli mobil 1 lagi haha. Anyway .. the old trusty C200 udah mulai merongrong .. sepertinya harus beli citycar .. and voila!!!

This is when White Ponyo (I decided to give her a name .. "Ponyo") got her new shoess!! a White Lenso Project D - pdX R16, 7inch

Ini lagi cuci di daerah Bintaro IX .. disamping competitor!! .. Ponyo masih pakai sepatu standar (yang harus dijual karena gak ada tempat untuk menyimpan!! hiks).

Semoga jadinya bagus deh nih post.

How Casual is too Casual - update on what's happening around me

Sepertinya menulis panjang di blog saat ini agak lebih susah dilakukan (not that I wrote a lot in the past tho :p) .. tapi dengan hadirnya begitu banyak media lain seperti twitter .. urang2 sepertinya menemukan cara lain untuk melimpahkan uneg2 nya. Dan serunya, gak perlu seperti blog yang rasanya selalu harus menulis banyak; with twitter you can just put a one liner .. and you're done :). Kadang-kadang itu cukup, dan karena gak harus tulis banyak, tidak membuat kita malas menulis.

Anyway.

Since morning I have been reading a lot about what's going on in Libya. Reading up almost all of CNN's pieces in relation to the conflict. I can only say .. sedih ya. It struck me .. at a certain point, we might need to resort to war.... A peace demonstration has turned out in to a full blown civil war .. just like that. Terus, di sisi lain dunia; Colin Firth dan Natalie Portman (such a cute lady) won best actor/actress di Academy Awards. Red carpet terpenuhi dengan aktris2 yang bergelimangan dengan perhiasan .. baju yg indah2 dan seksi2 sekali looh. Dan di Indonesia, kita sibuk dengan koalisi partai dan SBY yang merasa tidak puas dengan koalisinya. Bu Mega yang gak mau ketemu Hatta Rejasa dan memilih untuk makan malam dengan anak2nya. Udah gitu MU kalah ama Chelsea. hehe What I'm trying to say here; is that there is just toooo much information. Too many things going on in the world. But most of them are bad news. At least that is how I feel.

Hence, we come to the title of today's blog: 'how casual is too casual?'

Melihat semua yang terjadi disekitar saya; saya jadi berpikir ... should I do something? Am I actually doing anything for the good of the world? is it better to stay away from these important things and lay low? Are you rather be more or less; then be normal? non special?

Is not like I'm actually dreaming of going to make an impact to the world. Heck, telling my babygirl to sleep on time has been quite a challenge for me! gimana mau bantuin temen2 yang lagi perang saudara di Libya. soooo ... should I be casual (I did not use normal because that word is not catchy enough).

Should I try do bigger things? should I join a political party .. an NGO .. the military!! (hehe military not gonna happen.. unless they start needing overweight soldiers). Naaaah ... I always thought that something bigger start from something small. That is one of the things that I want to tell my babygrrl .. I hope she'll understand.

But doing small things seems so casual ... ya gak sih .. it's like: why is my life sooo petty.. nothing special.. pagi bangun, ke kantor dan kerja, pulang, makan malem, tidur, pagi bangun... seee .. gak ada spesial2nya :). I'm not saying everything is casual .. Luminara is super special :) .. but is that enough. As a father; shouldn't I be fighting the good fight outside and ensure her safety?

hhhhhh .. so many question. Mungkin itulah sebabnya Bapak gw selalu bilang gw terlalu banyak mikir .. akhirnya malah jadi gak ngapa2in. Hey... why should I throw away my options when I don't need to.

This is sad... apa sih yg kita dapat dari kekerasan?? kalian gak punya anak ya? atau org2 yang kalian sayang? sadar gak sih .. apa kita mau org yg kita sayang tinggal di dunia yang serba penuh kekerasan .. penuh kerusuhan?

Apalah artinya pride? ketika darah menjadi harganya? apa sih artinya eksistensi, ketika kekerasan menjadi topang nya .. apalah artinya bangsa mu .. ketika kau sendiri yang membunuh dan melukai saudara sebangsa mu... kamu sadar gak sih .. apalah artinya seseorang tanpa bangsa nya? Apakah begitu banyak nya kemarahan mu sampai kamu perlu berteriak agar didengar dan perlu menampar agar ditengok.

Hari ini pada hari ulang tahun nya, sebuah ORMAS membuat rusuh, membakar motor, melukai orang ... untuk apa sih? apa karena sebuah bendera? bendera .. walaupun sebuah lambang .. hanyalah secarik kain .. dan secarik kain tidaklah lebih mahal dari 1 nyawa manusia .. sama seperti sejadah .. ketika tidak dipakai untuk solat .. maka sejadah itu tidak lebih dari sebuah keset .... ketika nyawa sudah mulai tidak berharga, ketika pemimpin mu sudah mulai tak peduli dan hanya mementingkan image ... ketika tidak ada yang bisa memimpin dan memberi contoh .. kita menuju revolusi .. :(

Passion?

I might be the stupidest man alive :) .. I don't even know what my passion is. Sepertinya pertanyaan 'what is your passion' adalah pertanyaan yang gampang ya .. kita bisa liat apa hobi kita, atau apa yg paling senang kita lakukan .. but I don't know why; I cannot seem to have the answer to that.

Now I am 31 years old .. and I am still wondering whether I am doing what I want to be doing with my life. This kinda questions should appear when I was 25!! heck .. when I was 23. But nooooo it has to be now.

Pernah gak, ngerasa bahwa .. what am I doing here? kenapa kerjaan gw kok .. gak menarik ya. Pernah gak ngerasa .. kok my work performance .. mediocre aja yah .. Do I like my job?

A famous person once wrote: .. Ask yourself this: "If today is my last day; will I be doing what I plan to be doing today?".. if the answer is 'no' beberapa hari berturut-turut, you should probably stop doing what you do every day ...

Pertanyaan gw: "Kalo gw mati hari ini, apakah gw akan tetap melakukan pekerjaan gw?" I will try this in the morning for a couple of days .. tapi kok kayaknya jawabannya 'no' yah :p. The problem is with the next question .. "Jadi lo mau melakukan apa?" .. nah I never know the answer to that 2nd question.

So... what should I do?

Walaupun bukan merupakan sebuah permata ... Guru itu lebih berharga dari permata termahal sekalipun .. Ketika seseorang mendedikasikan dirinya untuk membuat org lain menjadi lebih baik dari dirinya .. dia adalah mesin pencetak permata-permata indah penerang dunia :)

Dulu temanku pernah berkata .. guru itu bagaikan jembatan emas yg berkilauan .. tampanya mustahil aku dapat menyeberangi sungai kehidupan dan menjadi manusia yang berguna.

Tapi apabila guru menjadi korup dan malahan merusak anak didiknya .. maka kalian hanyalah SAMPAH. Dan saya tidak perlu sampah... saya hanya perlu memikirkan bagaimana cara melenyapkan mu.

LuMiNaRa grows sooo fast .. sekarang dia udah mulai bisa ngomong2 sedikit .. udah bisa ngambeg .. udah tau kalo dimarahin .. dan udah bisa pura2 nangis ...

It scares me .. will I be a good dad? kalo gw sayang banget sama NaRa gimana? setiap dimarahin dia langsung pasang muka sedih :(( ... barusan di dapur dia dimarahin ama mamanya ... langsung deh .. bibir ditekuk .. ancang2 mau nangis :p ... gimana kalo udah SMA ya ... moga2 gw dan my wifey can handle her :) Parenthood .. is soooooo ... everything lah.

Baru aja gw browse through facebook page dari one of my uncles. I just realized that .. he has sooo many kewl pictures. The one where he rode his harley, his MTB cycle, his scoot.. The one where he was fishing, playing golf, travelling. The one with his daughters, and his wifey, his friend.

It struck me .. kok sempet ya? how did he managed to do all of these activities .. how did he found the time to do it? His life seems to be .. fun :) just look at those smile.

At first I thought .. wow I never gonna have the money to do all of those things .. bah, I cannot even buy a decent top of the line folding bike .. let along a harley davidson :). But when I think about it .. sambil melihat jendela kantor gw di bilangan cilandak yg baru saja hujan .. it is not the money that I should think about .. it is how fun and full live can be. Suddenly my window became brighter .. the headache I've been having for the past 2 days gone! .. my heart seems to be rested after a looooong hour of waking up. Aneh .. apakah ini gara2 gw tidur kemaleman karena nonton Germany vs Spain tadi malem.. I thought today will be horrible .. tapi enggak kok :).

Am I wasting my life? Should I do more than what I have been doing lately?

Begitu banyak hal yang setiap hari kita kuatirkan .. sampai we just forgot to .. live. Salah satu quote yang pernah gw denger dari my ex-bos/tutor .. "Slow down the dance ... slow down the dance and hear the music". Sometimes we are so worried about the dance ... we forget to hear the music .. (hell is that even possible???) I think it is! The dance became a routine .. a set of memorized - trained movements... it stopped being a dance because ... well becoz it is just a routine ..

Originally, the quote was a reminder for me and my fellow lawyers at my previous firm .. it was meant to simply remind everyone to stop working once and awhile and .. live. The dance is the work, and the song is .. (wait for it) .. living :) big suprise .. but I do tend to agree.

Kadang gw terlalu pusing pikirin setiap kerjaan yg harus gw selesaikan .. dan setiap bills I have to pay. The mortgage, the loan, the household, the savings, investments etc..

I was told that planning is important (and I still believe it).. but not at the cost of the music... becoz ..dancing is about (i did stopped about 60s when thinking about this)... hell is about expressing the music through movement .. no.. .the better terms is about .. absorbing it .. and sing it again your way .. but with movements ... (oh whatever .. I'm just gonna stop trying to be poetic).

Life is just that .. what we do in our life .. is basically our opinion about life itself. That's why .. kadang2 kerja itu seperti satu2nya hidup loe ... karena memang what we do adalah cerminan langsung dari how you perceive your life ..... sadly .. if that is true .. my life is boring as hell ...

but it is not ... I know I want more out of it .. but it is not that bad ... I might not be like Alexander the Great who counquered Persia .... or Khalid bin Walid the Sword of Allah .. or all other great people in the world (doesn't mean I don't wanna be like them ya). tapi .. life is fun :) .. I just need to take more pictures of me smiling ....

After talking with Mr. Suzuki from Mitsubishi Corp. Me and the guys at Idmoc come to the knowledge that PT KTB (as the sole distributor of Mitsubishi vehicle in Indonesia) MIGHT sell the new Lancer next year. The bad news is that it all depends on the Mitsubishi's factory in Thailand!! wtf ... so there's a possibility that we will not have the chance to taste this buldog face baby!!

Hmmm... can I actually own one of these new shining lancer.... well .. we will have to see next year ya ..

These past few days Jakarta is not as crowded as always.. maybe it is because people is still on their holiday. Anyway .. two nights in a row I was amazed by the beauty of the sidewalk in Jalan Sudirman .. heck .. I never thought that Jalan Sudirman could be that beautiful :) ... or maybe I just missed the lonely Amsterdam's street ... the vague lightning... and the warm feeling it gave me ...

My building is now almost empty .. It used to be a lovely bulding .. when you open the front door .. you can smell the weed from Massimo's room because he rarely close the door .. the laughter from the 2nd floor .. and the sound of nick doing something in his room. Often you will see Greg's door opened and people speaking inside .. or you can hear Seena and Ana speaking in the hall way. Nini, Tian Rui, and Lisa are always cooking. You will sometime meet Andre, Andreya, and Jap (the only dutch in the building) in the hallway. Our (me and Emilio's) room is always open and you can hear spanish music from emilio's room. Yes.. it was indeed a lively building .. I'm gonna miss this Unit 102E ... no more hanging out at Massimo's or Nicks's room .. doing stupid stuff that Nick teaches us.. Or the movie night at Nick's and Emilio's rooms. Marcella with her glossy blue bike which is rarely used .. and the sound of trams and metros that you can hear from the building :) ... My mood is grim because I have to leave this building .. the building which I considered to be my home for the last 10 months ...

Uilienstede is so busy this pass 2 days .. everyone is leaving .. u can see a lot of furniture in the garbage .. A new academical year is starting on September .. new people will be staying in our rooms .. new life will start .. will replace the lovely life we had this year ..

Because its annoying!! The part where you found stuff that remind you of sumthing .. all the travelling, all the tickets, the trains, the maps .. everything !! I just hate packing .. Its not that I don't like going back home ... its just like ending your life in Amsterdam .. yup its ending.

Now my room is a mess .. I m done putting all of the books (the real treasures) to the boxes. I just hope that in 3 months, they will reach Jakarta .. if not .. darn!

It's funny ... right now i'm sitting in my room writing a post in my blog .. its 4 o'clock in the morning in Amsterdam.. and one of my friend is leaving and I might not see him again.

He's name is Nick.. a guy from US that know a lot of stuff...

It's funny.. I just realized that I did not spent much time with him and the other guys in the building..

Now I can hear his voice saying that when he comes back to the building, everybody will be gone..

I may not be 'that' close to him, unlike Emilio or Massimo, they hang out really often .. and that's make me think .. why I was'nt there? .. all I know that, now.. I regret not hanging out with them more often ... Darn, seriously, I regret it.. and it's too late now.

Well, it's bound to happen rite? starting from Nick, everyone else will live in July. Rati will be gone after the graduation ceremony, after that, Ana will be gone..and so on and on..

:), I'll miss them... even though I rarely hang out with them .. I'm gonna miss them being there.. especially the people from 102E! Nick, Emilio, Massimo, Ana, Seena, Greg, Marcella, Lisa, Tian Rui, Nini... everyone.

Now.. I'm wondering .. did I really live my life in Amsterdam ?? .... it's only 1 month away from leaving .. for good..

the end is near.. and the new chapter will start .. why am I sad?

Now here I am ... in one of those sunless morning in Holland, looking at the windows. How many windows will I look into in my life? How many skies? hehe .. why do I feel that I will not be given the chance to see everything? Who needs to see everything? Is it really the purpuse of a man .. to see everything? or ... at least almost everything.. Our feet are so small, our eyes are so blinded, and our mind is so clouded.

I want to see more skies .. from more different windows, with different funny white frames :). Will I be given the chance? or should I create one ..

I am 26 now .. but I have not seen 26 cities ... 26 stations ... Why should people settled down? why? There are just to many things to see .. to many stations to stop by ...

You can even find becak in Rotterdam ... a month ago .. I met this guy who actually peddling an original Indonesian becak .. I asked the guy where in Amsterdam .. no in Netherlands di you buy this becak ???

He actually said that he bought directly from Indonesia (wtf?? globalization anyone?) The becak was sooo cheap .. but the shipping! damn.

Anyway, he said that this becak is very good. He has 3 lil children .. so becak suits him well :D

It is so funny .. I can see bits of Indonesian stuff here in The Netherlands ... ya well .. 350 years of "relationship" will actually let things like finding a beca in the middle of the city (in Netherlands) happens :p

It is cold (for an Indonesian), and not humid enough (again for an Indonesian)! :) but I feel warm amongst friends, I feel comfort amongts classmates, I feel glad to experience living here.

I bought a Bike. So I can cycle and experience the surroundings. Ppl should walk or cycle .. they should slow down.. so they can see and feel their surroundings! If you move to fast, u'll miss a lot of wonderful things! So.. slow down the dance.. feel the music ... ;)

Hehehehehehehehe, I proudly say that I am among the first IN THE WORLD who were lucky enough to see STAR WARS EPISODE 3, Revenge of the Sith.
YUP that’s right! On 10 PM (GMT + 7, Jakarta Time) I saw it at Setiabudi 21! .. it was a premier for reporters! .. and becoz of the time zone … Indonesia is the 1st country that play the premier !! Me so happy!!!! I can still feel the force !

Visited FHUI today .. my beloved campus :), made me want to be student all over again :) .. well I guess u need to pay a visit to your past now and then .. to make u remember how you really want your live to be .. your "big" plan for your life .. my life seems so small ......

They are everything to me, to even think that harm will come to them, hurts me :). I know that if the four of us stick together everything will be fine .. I will make it fine! Kinda silly .. when you think of it, how we (the mochdies) turn out to be.. well u know, if you have 3 brothers with you .. all you will ever do is fight, fight and fight ... :) but I guess thats what brothers do ya! .. annoy each other! But then we grow up, and We fight less and speak more... I love them, as simple as that. Let it be known, that we "the 4 mochdies", will kick azz!! :)

godsend! Cooking is a skill ... but choosing which food to eat and actually enjoy and being excited, passionate about it, is an art :). I adore yummy delicious food.. it will satisfy you physically and mentally! trust me! Eating great food will clear your stress condition (especially when you re working in my kinda environtment)!.
But well ... there's a catch! sacrificing one's appearance is one of them :p, but it is worth it :) .. dont you think ha3x
